Die AerztInnen für Soziale Verantwortung / zur Verhütung des Atomkriegs (PSR/IPPNW, Friedensnobelpreis 1985) Schweiz haben mit Genugtuung den gestrigen Entscheid des Ständerates in Sachen Atomausstieg zur Kenntnis genommen. Der Entscheid ist verantwortungsvoll und trägt sowohl Sicherheitsaspekten als auch neueren Erkenntnissen der biologischen Effekte niedriger Dosen ionisierender Strahlen und somit medizinischen Bedenken Rechnung. Die Schweiz folgt damit dem Beispiel Deutschlands, womit unsere beiden Länder energiepolitisch weltweit ein deutliches Zeichen setzen. Sie sind Wegbereiter für eine Zukunft der innovativen, nachhaltigen Energienutzung, der Energieeffizienz und der Ressourcenschonung.

Les Médecins pour une responsabilité sociale / pour la prévention de la guerre nucléaire (PSR/IPPNW, Prix Nobel de la Paix 1985) ont pris connaissance avec satisfaction de la décision du Conseil des Etats concernant la sortie du nucléaire. Cette décision est responsable; elle prend en considération à la fois les problèmes de sécurité et les préoccupations de santé publique, tenant compte des connaissances récentes sur les effets biologiques des faibles doses de rayonnements ionisants. La Suisse suit ainsi l’exemple de l’Allemagne. Nos deux pays donnent au monde un signal fort en matière de politique énergétique et deviennent pionniers d’un avenir aux énergies renouvelables, efficientes et pour le respect des ressources naturelles.

The Swiss chapter of the physicians for social responsibility / for the prevention of nuclear war (PSR/ IPPNW, Peace Nobel prize 1985) has taken, with satisfaction, notice of today’s vote by the the council of states, promoting the definite phase-out of civil use of nuclear power at the end of the lifespan of the existing 5 powerplants. With this responsible decision, the council has followed the votes of the national council and the Swiss executive. The decision considers both security aspects as well as new findings in the realm of biological effects of low doses of radiation, thus respecting medical concerns. Switzerland is following the example of Germany, the two countries courageously embarking on the path to increased energy conservation and the sustainable use of energy and resources. While conditions obviously differ in many places, this new course of Switzerland might hopefully set an example for other countries. |
